NICHOLAS S. ORVIS

Since 2014, Nick has served as the Literary Assistant and, more recently, Resident Dramaturg of Premiere Stages at Kean University, a professional theater dedicated to the development of new plays. In this capacity, he has read nearly a thousand proposals for plays, script samples, and full scripts, both published and unpublished, and worked with the artistic staff to support the production of over a dozen works of theater - both never-before-seen plays and local premieres of acclaimed recent works.

Nick's work as a freelance dramaturg is focused on empowering playwrights to make their work the best it can be, and guiding production teams to ensure that their work is truthful, accurate, and serves the vision of both playwright and director - no matter when the play was written, or by whom.
